Solaris 11 NWAM

Solaris 11 completely changes how network interfaces are configured and managed. The Network Auto-Magic Daemon (NWAM) is now responsible for automatically configuring the network (all interfaces, wired and/or wifi) based on the combination of a specified network configuration profile and a location profile. These profiles can range from very complex to very simple.

While the iPhone Mail App in iOS 4 has some really nice improvements there has definitely been a regression in stability. Recently I had an issue on my 3GS where the Mail App would constantly crash a couple seconds after starting. Here is how I fixed it without resetting the firmware.

I do a lot of Solaris and OpenSolaris driver development on x86 systems and there is nothing I hate more than debugging on a physically attached keyboard and monitor. A simple solution is to attach a KVM over IP dohickey but another (free) solution is to configure Solaris to use a serial console.
